Mystery Parties
Mystery parties are the latest trend for private events! Whether you’re hosting a thrilling murder mystery set in the roaring ’20s or a fun jewel heist for tweens, a mystery party is an excellent way to engage and entertain your guests. Lasting two to three hours and fully customizable, each mystery promises to keep your guests interacting and captivated throughout the event.
We provide everything you need, except for the venue and your guests. A dedicated mystery host will guide everyone through the theme, offering a list of suspects and clues to help solve the mystery, culminating in an exciting final reveal. All you have to do is choose the theme, invite your guests, and enjoy the adventure!
Frequently Asked Quesions
- What does it cost? Each mystery is complete and the pricing is based on the location, style of mystery and number of hours. Prices are all inclusive which means there’s no additional charging for travel, hotel, per diem, et cetera.
- How long is the experience?: The typical murder mystery runs two hours although I have packages that are longer, I have found that two hours is a comfortable amount of time so your guests are not feeling rushed but at the same time are not getting bored.
- How does it work? Similar to the murder mystery game Clue, there are suspects and clues are handed out to help your guests determine who committed the crime, how it was done, and why.
- Is the game interactive? In the interactive version different clues are given to different teams and each team will need to mix and mingle with members of the other teams to exchange clues and get more information about the mystery. Some teams like to play close to the vest and not share their information but then they don’t get all the information themselves. This adds a little bit of strategy to the game.
- Are my guests or I the victim, murderer or suspects? It’s important to note that none of your guests will be suspects, the murderer, or the victim. We want everyone to be able to enjoy themselves and solve the mystery together as a group. This includes you!
- Is this like a boxed game? Unlike a boxed game where you will know all the information and won’t be able to participate and will have to do all of the work to run the game I take that place as the host guiding everyone through the mystery so you can enjoy yourself along with the rest of your guests.
- Are there props provided? No props are included in the game with the exception of the suspect sheets and individual clues. I have hosted some parties where hosts have provided their own props. For example I did a tween party where a giant diamond was stolen at the party and the girls had to figure out who stole the diamond and why. The hosts applied a giant fake diamond as a prop.
- What do we need to plan beforehand? What makes this so easy is that you don’t have much to do prior to the day of the event. As a host you will of course invite your guests, plan whatever food you’re going to serve, et cetera but I handle every feature of the mystery. All you have to do is hire me and I’ll take care of the rest!
- What types of themes do you offer? I have several themes to choose from. Themes like a roaring 20s murder mystery in a 1920s speakeasy, a modern day murder that takes place in a mansion much like the game of clue, a Harry Potter Theme, A jewel heist theme and even a phishing scheme! The Roaring 20s theme and the mansion theme tend to be the two most popular and are strongly recommended.
- Can we do a custom theme just for our group? Custom themes are available add an additional charge. My wife and I write all of the mysteries so you will not encounter the same theme anywhere else. Just let us know what you would like to have designed and it will be custom crafted to your desires.
- I have a mystery group that meets monthly. Would you be able to do a different mystery every month for us? Yes! Since we design all of the mysteries ourselves you will never have the same mystery twice nor will you encounter any of our mysteries anywhere else this is perfect for a mystery club.
- I see you are also a magician and mentalist. Can we do both at the same event? As a magician and mentalist I do more than just host mystery parties. If you would like to add a little magic to your event I can provide you with a magic or mentalism show prior to or after the event, or strolling magic and mentalism during the cocktail hour. I even have a combined theme where your guests have no idea there is going to be a mystery. I arrive and begin to do a mentalism show which runs about an hour. Towards the end of the show I fall to the ground apparently murdered! I then stand up and explain that I am now the host of a murder mystery and it’s up to your guests to determine who murdered me, how and why! It only requires a small additional fee to add an extra hour with a magical touch whether it is the separate performance or the combo with the murder mystery.
